Where to Travel in Spring
The flowers are blooming and spring is finally in the air. It has come to that time of year when we can leave those dreary winter days behind and getaway for a well deserved spring break. If you’re planning a Spring getaway but don’t quite know where are the best places to travel to in springtime for a bit of sunshine and warmth. Here’s our top picks…
The Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are blessed with an amazingly temperate climate and it rarely becomes cooler than 20 degrees celsius there, even in winter. They’re the perfect place to escape to if you’re looking for beautiful beaches, interesting landscapes and plenty of different things to do. You can go surfing on Lanzarote, go hiking in Tenerife and marvel at the peaceful pine forests on La Palma.
The Canary Islands are also under 5 hours from the UK, so it’s not too far to fly for a bit of spring sunshine.
VietnamĀ
Spring is the perfect time to visit Vietnam as at the end of March and all throughout April tends to be one of the driest times of year to visit as monsoons are far less frequent than at other times of the year.
Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon), Vietnam
The temperature in the north will be pleasant for sightseeing and the further south you venture the hotter it’ll get. Vietnam is such a diverse country that there’s so much to explore and discover.
South Africa
South Africa has been really trying to boost tourism and has redeveloped many areas in order to make it more attractive to visitors. You could go and visit Table Mountain, follow the beautiful Garden Route and go wine tasting in some of it’s many vineyards.
Cape Town
Another great reason to visit South Africa is that it’s on the same time zone as the UK so you won’t have to suffer any lousy jet-lag!
DubaiĀ
Spring is a perfect time to visit Dubai as it’s not too hot. In summer temperatures can average at an uncomfortable 38 degrees celsius whereas from March to May the temperature suits around the mid twenties. This makes it a great time of year to explore the most expensive city in The Middle East without having to deal with suppressing heat that makes sightseeing unbearable.
Italy
Spring can be a great time to visit some of Italy’s most famous cities that become so crowded with tourists in the summer months. Venice, Rome and Florence are all a lot quieter and much more pleasant to visit in spring time. You’ll be fighting through less crowds of tour groups to get around the city and you’ll enjoy a more peaceful visit. Sure, you might not get the best weather and may have to suffer a bit of rain but it’s sure to be better than the dreary British weather!
