Travelling Ravenna In Pictures
Travelling Ravenna – A Visual Discovery
Whilst staying in Rimini in July as part of the amazing Blogville project, I took some time to visit some different places within the Emilia Romagna region. Ravenna is famously known for it’s stunning mosaics and together with some other bloggers we headed to Ravenna to see the mosaics and explore the city itself. So here’s a few photos of some of the beautiful places I came across whilst travelling Ravenna…
In the middle of the afternoon on a scorching summer day the streets of Ravenna were quiet and peaceful.
The beautiful porticos reminded me of Bologna, a city that I simple adore. Porticos are a fabulously Italian architectural feature that I love.
Inside the Arian Baptistry are some of the beautifully intricate mosaics that Ravenna is so famous for. The pictures really don’t do them justice as, in reality, they’re bright and colourful and the gold mosaic tiles shimmer beautifully.
