Things To Do In Paris
Paris is one of my favourite cities in the world and there are so many attractions in Paris that it can be hard to know where to begin. If you’re visiting Paris on a short break and are pushed for time then these are a collection of my top things to do in Paris.
Things to do in Paris
Paris attractions – Scale the Arc de Triomphe
One of the best views in Paris, in my opinion, can be seen from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. This monumental arch stands as a stark reminder of the people who have fought for France in various wars and battles. It is poignant, sentimental and magnificently imposing.
You can buy tickets for the Arc de Triomphe for 8 euros and can enjoy gorgeous panoramic views over the city. Amazing!
Paris attractions – Visit The Louvre
The Louvre is one of the largest and most famous museums in the entire world and is a definite highlight of a trip to this city. Get there first thing in the morning to avoid waiting in too many queues and remember it is completely closed on a Tuesday!
Paris attractions – The Eiffel Tower
The most obvious attraction in Paris is clearly The Eiffel Tower, the universally recognisable symbol of the city. Even if you decide not to take the trip to the top of the tower, whether on foot or in one of the fabulously old fashioned lifts, a trip to Paris would not be worth it without seeing this staggering tower.
If you’re planning to take the trip to the top of the tower then I’d definitely recommend buying your tickets online and in advance to save precious Parisian time waiting in queues.
Enjoy the cafe culture
Paris is one of those cities that just begs you to sit in its adorable cafes and restaurants with outdoor seats that line the wide streets and boulevards. Find a comfy spot outside, sip a coffee (or a glass of wine!) and get involved in some serious chilling and people watching. Tres bon!
Go shopping!
Paris is arguably the fashion capital of the world and has some amazing shops for you to browse in, even if it’s just a spot of window shopping. Take a stroll along The Avenue des Champs-Élysées and take a look in some of the specialist shops on this famous, tree lined boulevard.
Take a bus tour
I know bus tours aren’t many people’s cup of tea but with a city as large as Paris it can be the perfect way to get around and see plenty of the top attractions quickly and easily. Definitely be sure to stop off at Notre Dame de Paris and The Hôtel de Ville, both are architecturally magnificent buildings that certainly deserve some attention during your visit to Paris.
So what do you think are the most important things to do in Paris? What attractions do you think shouldn’t be missed?
