1. Gorilla trekking in Uganda

If you are a tiger junkie, this is the place to go. Encompassing two of India’s key national parks, this safari gives you the best possible chance of observing tigers in the wild. Each day you will embark on game drives, by jeep and elephant back, seeking out the elusive tiger in its natural habitat. Park rangers get up early each morning to track these largest of the big cats before you’ve even had breakfast, meaning there is a focused search each day. This fascinating tapestry of woodland and open grassland is teeming with other wildlife, including Indian wild dogs, marsh deer and hundreds of species of birds.

3. Canoe safari in Zambia
Designed for the more intrepid wildlife traveller, a canoe adventure through the floodplains of the middle Zambezi and the remote Mupata gorge is one of the most inconspicuous ways to appreciate the great outdoors. In this six day participatory trip, you will paddle among big hippos, crocodiles and a vast array of river-dwelling birdlife, helping to put the tents up when you camp each night. The route covers 163km, coming to an end at the confluence of the Luangwa River.
